Conductor • Educator • Researcher
Dr. Irene Apanovitch-Leites is a choral conductor, music educator, and scholar currently taking time to pursue other projects, spend time with family, travel, and reassess her career path in music education. She previously served as Director of Choral Activities at Black Hawk College, where she conducted three choirs and taught coursework in theory and music literature. She frequently serves as a clinician with collegiate, high school, church, and community ensembles in both Canada and the United States. Her research investigates the role of empathy and perspective-taking in choral music education.
